PRESS RELEASE: SENT, Inc. and Working Men of Christ Announce Strategic Workforce Development Partnership

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Topeka, KS — October 8, 2025 SENT, Inc., a Topeka-based nonprofit dedicated to holistic neighborhood transformation, is proud to announce a new partnership with Working Men of Christ (WMOC), a Christ-centered ministry that has operated eight discipleship homes in partnership with Crossroads Restoration Inc. across Kansas since 2014. This collaboration marks a significant step toward addressing workforce readiness, reducing recidivism, and expanding wraparound services for people in transition.

Through this partnership, WMOC participants will move from volunteer service into a structured workforce development program. Participants will commit to at least 20 hours of service per week, contributing more than 400 man-hours per month to SENT’s neighborhood initiatives. Their work will directly support operations at the Southside Filling Station Food Hub, neighborhood housing and beautification projects, and the community garden.

Over the course of the program, participants will have opportunities to complete training and certification in basic computer skills, skid steer operation, and forklift driving. They will also receive instruction from K-State Master Gardeners within SENT’s community garden, where produce grown will be used to support the Southside Filling Station food pantry.

In return, participants will gain access to a full spectrum of wraparound supports, including mental health and substance use disorder therapy, case management, workforce physicals, chiropractic care, massage therapy, and food assistance through SENT’s pantry.

“This partnership is about more than workforce training,” said Jill Rice, Operations Director of SENT, Inc. “It’s an investment in people—an opportunity to create a scalable model of reintegration that restores dignity and builds long-term stability for men reentering society.”

WMOC brings a strong history of faith-based discipleship, mentorship, and reduced recidivism. Residents in WMOC homes engage daily in devotions, Bible study, and purposeful service—values that align seamlessly with SENT’s mission of neighborhood transformation and holistic support.
