MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
Everyone Deserves Support
"I was nervous to meet with someone I had never met to discuss such personal and intimate subjects, but it gets easier every time, no doubt because of how understandingly -but still professionally- I was treated on every occasion. Almost immediately I understood that I was here to be helped and guided and healed, not just to be listened to, which is certainly reassuring."

In everyday life, we all face challenges.
Sometimes the pressure, stress, and responsibilities are too much to manage alone. These challenges can sometimes lead to self-doubt, depression, anxiety, or other mental health problems. SENT believes that part of seeing wholistic transformation of a community is also addressing mental health and emotional needs.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness reports that 1 in 4 individuals experience mental health problems each year. 420,000 adults in Kansas have a mental health condition. That’s more than 3x the population of Topeka. In February 2021, 36.5% of adults in Kansas reported symptoms of anxiety or depression. 21.7% were unable to get needed counseling or therapy. 48.7% of Kansans aged 12–17 who have depression did not receive any care in the last year.*
Kansans often struggle to get the help they need. More than half of people with a mental health condition in the U.S. did not receive any treatment in the last year. Of the 153,000 adults in Kansas who did not receive needed mental health care, 51.8% did not because of cost. 9.2% of people in the state are uninsured. Kansans are over 3x more likely to be forced out-of-network for mental health care than for primary health care — making it more difficult to find care and less affordable due to higher out-of-pocket costs. 1,383,258 people in Kansas live in a community that does not have enough mental health professionals.*
Mental health should be affordable and accessible for everyone.

EMDR is a therapy technique that helps individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences. By focusing on specific memories or events while engaging in bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or tapping, EMDR can alleviate distress and promote emotional well-being.
Play Therapy is a therapeutic approach that allows children to express their thoughts, emotions, and experiences through play. By engaging in play activities, children can communicate and work through their feelings in a safe and supportive environment, fostering healing and growth.
TF-CBT is a specialized form of therapy designed to help children and adolescents who have experienced trauma. It combines elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) with trauma-focused techniques to address trauma-related symptoms and promote resilience.
CBT is a widely used therapy approach that focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By identifying and challenging negative or unhelpful thoughts, CBT helps individuals develop healthier thinking patterns and more adaptive behaviors, leading to improved mental well-being.
DBT is a comprehensive therapy approach primarily used for individuals struggling with emotional regulation, self-destructive behaviors, and difficulties in relationships. It combines elements of cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness practices, emphasizing acceptance and change strategies.
TBRI is an attachment-based intervention designed to support children who have experienced trauma, neglect, or other adverse experiences. It focuses on creating and maintaining healthy, secure relationships while providing tools and strategies for caregivers to meet the child's emotional and developmental needs.
Our Addictions Specialist is approved on the KDADS (Kansas Department of Aging and Disabilities) website to provide SUD assessments for individuals with a DUI.
Neurofeedback, also known as EEG (electroencephalogram) biofeedback, is a therapeutic intervention that provides immediate feedback from a computer-based program that assesses a client’s brainwave activity. The program uses auditory or visual signals to help patients recognize their thought patterns and try to modify them. Through this process, clients can learn to regulate and improve their brain function and hopefully alleviate symptoms of various neurological disorders and mental health conditions.
