FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SENT, Inc. Announces Partnership with Habitat for Humanity of the Northern Flint Hills to Expand Affordable Housing in Manhattan and the Northern Flint Hills

Collaboration will strengthen housing solutions through shared knowledge, resources, and relationships across Kansas

MANHATTAN, Kan. — SENT, Inc. is proud to announce a new partnership with Habitat for Humanity of the Northern Flint Hills to help expand affordable housing opportunities in Manhattan and the Northern Flint Hills region while strengthening collaborative housing solutions across Kansas.

This partnership builds on the organizations’ shared participation in the K-State Transdisciplinary Housing Team (TDT), the A Better Housing Toolkit project, and the Heartland Homes Initiative—three of several areas where Habitat and SENT are already collaborating to strengthen housing quality, quantity, and affordability through shared learning, innovation, and cross-sector problem solving. This new step in Manhattan and the Northern Flint Hills extends that existing collaboration into a practical, community-centered partnership focused on real housing outcomes.

A partnership rooted in learning and shared impact

Through this collaboration, SENT and Habitat for Humanity of the Northern Flint Hills will work together to:

  • Share practical knowledge and lessons learned from community-based housing development in different Kansas communities
  • Leverage relationships across public, philanthropic, and community partners to expand opportunity
  • Strengthen housing strategies that support long-term affordability and neighborhood stability
  • Contribute local expertise and feedback that can strengthen broader housing efforts across Kansas

Habitat for Humanity of the Northern Flint Hills brings a tremendous history of service and innovation within Kansas. The organization has been recognized for its longstanding commitment to buyer education, thoughtful advocacy on housing matters, and innovative approaches that strengthen housing pathways for families. Habitat’s deep engagement with students and local partners has also created powerful opportunities for community involvement—helping build not only homes, but broader community ownership of housing solutions.

SENT, Inc. brings experience in community development and holistic strategies that connect housing with the broader conditions families need to thrive. SENT’s work is grounded in relationships and strategic development that strengthen long-term community stability.

Together, the organizations see this partnership as part of a broader Kansas effort: communities learning from one another, sharing what works, and strengthening housing ecosystems that have become fragmented over time.

“At SENT, we believe the work of expanding affordable housing is stronger when organizations come together with shared purpose and a willingness to learn from one another,” said Johnathan Sublet, Executive Director of SENT, Inc. “Habitat for Humanity of the Northern Flint Hills has a strong history of buyer education, advocacy, innovation, and student involvement that has helped shape housing opportunities in Kansas. We’re honored to partner in ways that can help expand housing in Manhattan and the Northern Flint Hills while contributing to the good of communities statewide.”

“This partnership is one more example of what becomes possible when organizations choose to build together instead of working in isolation,” Sublet added. “By sharing knowledge, resources, and relationships, we can strengthen what’s possible for Kansas families—community by community.”

As this partnership grows, SENT and Habitat for Humanity of the Northern Flint Hills will remain focused on community-centered collaboration, shared learning, and sustainable strategies that expand affordable housing opportunities.
