Halloween Costume Collection & Giveaway

Creating Joy, Confidence, and Connection

Each fall, SENT hosts our Halloween Costume Collection & Giveaway, a community-centered initiative designed to ensure every child can experience the joy, imagination, and belonging that comes with Halloween—regardless of a family’s financial circumstances.

For many families, the cost of costumes can be a barrier. For children, missing out can feel isolating. This initiative removes that barrier while creating a safe, welcoming space where families are supported, children are celebrated, and community care is visible and tangible.

This effort unfolds in three connected ways: costume collection, a family giveaway event, and volunteer engagement.

When families feel welcomed, supported, and celebrated, community becomes something you can feel.

Costume Collection

September 1st – 30th Each Year

During this time, SENT collects clean, new or gently used, and ready-to-wear Halloween costumes. Every costume helps ensure a child can participate fully in Halloween with confidence and joy.

Costume accessories, masks, capes, wigs, and props

Costume shoes (clean and in good condition)

The Halloween Costume Giveaway is more than a costume distribution—it’s a family-centered wellness event designed to support children’s emotional health while meeting practical needs.

Halloween Costume Giveaway & Child Wellness Event

Families are invited to shop for costumes at no cost and participate in interactive activities that support child mental wellness, emotional regulation, and healthy coping skills. The event creates a festive, welcoming environment where children can have fun while caregivers connect to resources that support their family year-round.

What Families Can Expect

Free Halloween costumes for children of all ages

Child mental wellness activities and interactive stations

Health supports, which may include flu shots or screenings (availability varies by year)

Access to SENT’s client-choice food pantry

A safe, joyful space where children and caregivers feel seen, supported, and welcomed

This event reflects SENT’s belief that celebration and prevention go hand in hand—and that supporting children’s mental and physical wellbeing can be joyful, accessible, and community-driven.

From setting up costume racks to helping kids find the perfect outfit, every role contributes to an experience that families remember long after Halloween is over.
