TOPEKA (KSNT) – A Topeka organization will be collecting Halloween costumes for the next several weeks leading up to the holiday so local children can get the most out of the occasion.
SENT Inc. in Topeka is holding its third annual Halloween Costume Collection & Giveaway this year along with an added Child Mental Wellness Fair in October, according to a press release from the organization. The event is meant to be a day of fun and community spirit for local children and their families.
Staff with SENT Inc. will be collecting new and gently used Halloween costumes from Sept. 1 through to Sept. 30 to ensure all local children can experience the fun of collecting candy with friends in style. People who want to make a donation can head to a designated drop-off location outside Room 121 at the SENT office and some other locations around the city. These locations will be shared through SENT’s social media accounts.
Children and families can meet at 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Oct. 12 at the SENT office at 455 SE Golf Park Boulevard in Topeka to participate in the giveaway. Costumes are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Attendees can also participate in the Child Mental Wellness Fair which will feature interactive stations for kids to learn about mental health in fund and engaging ways, according to SENT Inc. Local mental health professionals will also be on hand to speak with about topics like managing stress and building resilience.
