Why Campus Connections
The hours after school
matter most.
The time between the last bell and dinner is some of the most important — and most unsupported — time in a young person's day. Campus Connections fills that gap with something real: mentors who show up, programming that actually engages you, and a community that has your back.
We're not a tutoring center. We're not a study hall. We're a space where you get to explore who you are, build skills you'll actually use, and find people who genuinely care about your future.
We believe every young person deserves adults who show up — and a place where they can grow into who they were made to be.

HOW IT WORKS
Small groups.
Big growth.
You get placed in a small group of 5–8 students with a dedicated One Heart mentor who walks alongside you every single day — not just a face you see once a week, but someone who actually knows you. Groups rotate through different programming stations throughout the semester.
5–8 students, real relationships, not crowded rooms
Mon–Thu, 3–4:45 PM at Eisenhower Middle School
new experiences each day: arts, music, academics, finance, coding & more
same crew for 4 years, real community built over time
A typical afternoon:
3:00 PM — Arrive, check in, grab a snack — your One Heart mentor is there to welcome you
3:30 PM — Stations: theater, coding, creative arts, academic support, service projects, Work In Process, or another program
4:45 PM — Wrap-up — your people making sure you're good to go
Programing STATIONS
Something for everyone.
For real.
Our partner organizations bring their best every week. Your group rotates through stations each semester — building skills across the board. At least four partners run programming every semester.
Your anchor. One Heart leaders are assigned to your small group and walk with you every day — building trust, showing up, and advocating for you no matter what.
Find your voice — literally. Local theater professionals help you build confidence, storytelling, and stage presence through performance and collaboration.
A rotating space to explore who you are through art, writing, and creative outlets — with caring adults who get it. No talent required. Just you.
Live music meets real talk. Blends urban music, personal testimony, and evidence-based mental health tools to help you process life, regulate emotions, and build resilience. Learn More: Work in Process and Braillionaire website.
Learn how money actually works — budgeting, investing, and stacking real skills. Caregivers are invited to join alongside their students. Graduates leave with funds set aside for college, trade school, or a first investment account. Every 3rd Thursday · 5:30–7:30 PM · Location varies.
Learn to code, design your own games, and work in a real studio environment — where game dev and music production come together in ways that actually make sense.
Digital storytelling, creative writing, audio and video production — all in a studio setting. Build skills that open doors in media, communication, and creative careers.
Partnering with K-State Extension's 4-H program for leadership development, career field exposure, and job readiness activities that prepare you for life beyond the classroom.
Serve at the food pantry, work with animals at Helping Hands Humane Society, or take on neighborhood service projects that make a real difference in Southeast Topeka.
As a school-partnered program, part of our programming is dedicated to academics. That includes immersive, project-based learning experiences as well as dedicated tutoring time — so students get real help with real schoolwork, from people who actually know them.
Partners and stations may shift semester to semester.
Every young person deserves adults who show up.
For caregivers
What this means for your family.
Campus Connections is completely free for all enrolled students. We run inside Eisenhower Middle School, so students transition directly from their school day into programming — no complicated transportation needed.
Your student joins a cohort that stays together for up to four years, with consistent adults who know them by name. You'll know who they're with and what they're doing — and you're always welcome to get involved, especially through Bridge Builders Investment Club.
Enrollment opens each semester. Fall 2026 begins with a pilot cohort of 24 students and grows to 40 as capacity allows. Spots are limited — sign up early.
No cost to families. Ever.
