TOPEKA (KSNT) – A Topeka non-profit is providing a new alternative way for some families to get affordable healthcare.
SENT Topeka has launched its Southside Wellness Clinic in southeast Topeka. It’s designed to give lower-income families with Medicaid, more accessible care.
Leaders with the non-profit told 27 News the program will help set up patients with the best option.
“Actually the person who leads this initiative we call our community health advocate,” Johnathan Sublet, found of SENT, said. “We call her that because she not only handles the services that we offer here in the building, but she goes out to the community and helps inform our community of health care options that are available to them and get them connected with those.”
The clinic is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Fridays for appointments. According to Sublet, the clinic is also open on select Thursday evenings and Saturdays.
The clinic accepts walk-ins from 12-3:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, 3:30-7 p.m. Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Fridays.
