TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – A new partnership will improve access to mental health care in southeast Topeka.
Tricia Sublet from SENT Topeka and Kristen Stock with Valeo Behavioral Health visited Eye on NE Kansas to share what they are doing.
Stock said some people with mental health challenges receive medications to assist them. Those people must be checked regularly to ensure they are receiving the proper dosage and the medications are working as expected.
Sublet said those follow-ups can be a challenge in the southeast Topeka which SENT serves. She said many residents face transportation challenges. While telehealth can be an option, many people cannot afford internet access in their homes.
Through their partnership, SENT will offer a space with internet access where residents can receive those med checks via a telehealth session with Valeo. They are offered once a week to people who are Valeo clients.
