“Healthcare coverage is a tremendous stressor for many in our community. Without it, people delay seeking care, sometimes with life-altering consequences.” – Johnathan Sublet, Executive Director
At SENT, Inc., we believe that everyone deserves access to affordable, high-quality healthcare. Unfortunately, for many in Southeast Topeka, this remains a challenge. According to the ALICE report, over 50.7% of households in Senate District 19 struggle to afford basic necessities, and Kansas has some of the highest rates of uninsured individuals, particularly among children.
This is why we’re excited to have launched the Southside Wellness Clinic—an express care facility that will provide accessible healthcare services to our community.
Our clinic is more than a medical facility; it’s a bridge to better health and brighter futures. We offer a wide range of services, from walk-in care like flu vaccines and strep tests to scheduled appointments for physicals and family planning. In addition, we provide medication-assisted treatment and connect individuals with primary care providers for ongoing health needs.
SENT is also addressing barriers to care by partnering with organizations like Aimee Health to offer low-cost tele-health and medication services, ensuring that no one is left behind. For families facing challenges navigating insurance options, our Neighbor Advocate team is here to help with Medicaid sign-ups and Affordable Care Act subsidies.
Why It Matters:
- Nearly 240,000 Kansans were uninsured in 2023, including over 38,000 children.
- Many families in Southeast Topeka live in areas with limited healthcare access, exacerbating disparities and forcing difficult choices between essentials like food and medical care.
- Affordable, accessible care can prevent crises and create a healthier, stronger community.
We invite you to join us in spreading the word about the Southside Wellness Clinic and our mission to close the healthcare gap in Southeast Topeka.
