PRESS RELEASE: SENT and Topeka Center for Peace and Justice Partner to Support Justice-Involved Youth Through Healing-Focused Program

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SENT and Topeka Center for Peace and Justice Partner to Support Justice-Involved Youth Through Healing-Focused Program

Topeka, KS —May 19, 2025 — A powerful new partnership between SENT Topeka and the Topeka Center for Peace and Justice (TCPJ) is bringing hope and healing to justice-involved youth in Shawnee County. Through the newly developed Peace Outreach Project (POP), youth referred through diversion will have access to trauma-informed, psycho-educational group services delivered by SENT.

At the heart of the project is Making Sense of Your Worth, a group-based program that helps participants build confidence, recognize their value, and develop healthier relationships. Offered by SENT, this program gives youth on diversion a supportive space to process past experiences and learn tools for long-term personal growth.

This partnership is a chance to stop the cycle. Rather than just checking boxes, this program and wrap-around support give young people a real opportunity to heal, to grow, and to see themselves differently.

The program targets youth referred through the court system. By addressing the root causes of actions with care and evidence-based tools, the project aims to promote healing for individuals and families.
