TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – A Topeka nonprofit is working to ensure no child misses out on Halloween.
SENT Topeka hosted its annual Halloween giveaway at the Community Resource Center on Saturday, Oct. 10.
The nonprofit gave away free costumes, no matter the age or size, to children and their families ahead of Halloween.
The nonprofit said the giveaway aims to remove financial barriers families may face when it comes to building memories on a holiday many children look forward to.
“Being able to supply means the world because someone else doesn’t have to just wonder what it would be like to have a Halloween costume; someone else doesn’t have to wonder what it would be like to have access to the different resources that actually have those things. And that we’re not putting another generation of people through something just because we went through it,” said Johnathan Sublet, founder of Sent Inc.
SENT tells 13 NEWS that the Halloween giveaway is one of its major place-building events this year, helping it foster relationships with the community.
