Pediatric Connections OT
Starting in August 2024, SENT, Inc. is thrilled to partner with Pediatric Connections OT, led by the experienced Deana Lesher. This collaboration brings much-needed pediatric occupational therapy services directly to our community. Pediatric Connections OT specializes in helping children and adults succeed in daily activities, focusing on sensory integration and trauma recovery. This collaboration brings the only pediatric occupational therapy services with a trauma-informed model to Shawnee and Douglas Counties. Deana Lesher, owner and occupational therapist at Pediatric Connections, has over 32 years of experience specializing in helping children and adults succeed in daily activities, focusing on sensory integration and trauma recovery.
Exposure to early trauma can significantly impact a child's development and ability to participate in daily activities. Trauma-informed pediatric occupational therapy is an approach that considers a child's past experiences and tailors treatment accordingly. This can be especially helpful for children who have experienced complex trauma, which can affect their interactions with others, participation in activities, and overall well-being.
Pediatric Connections will provide weekly occupational therapy services focusing on whole-family support through trauma-informed care. They will also offer parent support groups for education regarding behavior regulation and sensory processing. Their team is uniquely trained to help children and their families overcome challenges and improve their quality of life.
