FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Topeka, KS – March 2025 – SENT Inc. and Valeo Behavioral Health Care are partnering to host a free, walk-in Medicaid enrollment and SSI/SSDI assistance event aimed at helping individuals and families access essential healthcare and financial stability services. The event will take place on Thursday, April 24, from 12:30 – 4:30 PM at SENT Inc., located at 455 SE Golf Park Blvd, Topeka, KS.
This partnership brings Valeo’s SOAR (SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery) team on-site to assist individuals who may qualify for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). SOAR is designed to help people experiencing or at risk of homelessness and those with mental illness, medical impairments, or substance use disorders navigate the complex application process and secure financial assistance.
Additionally, eligible individuals will have the opportunity to apply for Medicaid and receive same-day access to benefits if they meet the necessary requirements.
WHO CAN BENEFIT?
- Children
- Pregnant women
- Women with breast or cervical cancer
- Adult caretakers and parents
- Former foster care individuals (ages 18-26)
WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE EVENT:
- No pre-registration is required – Walk-ins are welcome.
- Bring identification (ID) and Social Security numbers for yourself and any dependents applying.
- SOAR representatives will assist eligible individuals with applying for disability benefits (SSI/SSDI).
- Medicaid applications will be processed on-site for those who meet eligibility requirements.
Kristin Stock, CCBHC Director at Valeo Behavioral Health Care, emphasized the importance of this initiative:
“Presumptive Eligibility supports health equity by ensuring that low-income and marginalized individuals have quick access to care. It helps address disparities in healthcare access and outcomes that disproportionately affect communities of underserved groups.”
This one-day event is a vital opportunity for individuals and families who are uninsured or experiencing financial hardship to access medical coverage and financial assistance without delays. However, it is important to note that ongoing Medicaid cases or additional paperwork outside of same-day applications cannot be addressed at this event.
Join us on April 24 to take the next step toward healthcare access!
