The Topeka Center for Peace and Justice has partnered with SENT Topeka for the Peace Outreach Project.
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – A pair of organizations are joining forces to help young people get back on a positive path.
It’s called the Peace Outreach Project. Tricia Sublet and Greg Lombard Rea from SENT Topeka visited Eye on NE Kansas to share how they’re working with the Topeka Center for Peace and Justice.
The POP program was created to assist young people, often times those those who are entering court-appointed diversion.
Sublet and Lombard Rea say the program encompasses several weeks. They teach young people skill and tools to become more personally responsible for their behavior. Problem-solving and conflict resolution are among the skills.
The program also empowers them to realize that their past choices do not have to define them.
