TOPEKA (KSNT) – As fentanyl continues to impact many lives in Kansas, some Topeka organizations are offering “Save a Life” stations to the community.
Multiple businesses are placing these boxes outside their establishments. Inside the boxes, people can find the drug Narcan and other information about addiction resources. Narcan is often used to reverse an opioid overdose caused by drugs like fentanyl. Below are the four locations:
- SENT Topeka – 455 SE Golf Park Blvd.
- Tilton’s – 1100 SW Sixth St.
- Gayle’s – 600 NW Paramore St.
- T’z Whiskey Barrel Lounge – 501 NW Lyman Rd.
“A lot of this stuff, you feel like you had to pay for it or you have to ask someone for it, and those are all barriers,” said organizer Amber Saale-Burger. “With these being out in the community, we don’t have barriers now. They can come up and get the necessities they need to keep themselves alive.”
